Zorblandia’s national sky-polo team soared to victory on Saturday in the 12th Annual International Sky-Polo Championship, held above the scenic slopes of Mount Cloudview. The team defeated long-time rivals, the Gliding Eagles of Flummorvia, with a final score of 47-32, marking their first win in nearly a decade.

“This was our year,” exclaimed captain Lexi Drift, who scored a record-breaking 12 goals from the highest altitude ever recorded in sky-polo history. “We trained hard in Zorblandia’s famous Wind Tunnel of Endurance, and it paid off.”

Sky-polo, a sport that combines elements of polo, jetpacking, and aerial acrobatics, has gained a cult following across the globe in recent years. Fans cheered as the Zorblandian team deftly maneuvered through aerial hoops and swooped to intercept their opponents’ shots in mid-air.

The championship win is expected to spur a new wave of interest in sky-polo across Zorblandia, with plans to build new high-altitude training facilities. However, critics are raising questions about the use of wind-powered jetpacks, which have given Zorblandia a “distinct but controversial advantage” according to Flummorvia’s coach, Marnie Glider.

With sky-polo now attracting attention from extreme sports networks, Zorblandia is looking forward to defending its title next season—and maybe even seeing the sport make it into the next Extreme Games.
