In a surprising announcement, Gondolia has declared a national “Day of Paddling” on October 21st to celebrate the country’s skyrocketing interest in kayaking. With nearly half the population now owning a kayak, the small island nation has seen a boom in water sports.

Prime Minister Leni Wavefield explained the holiday aims to promote “unity through paddling.” Events will include kayak races, sunset paddles, and a grand parade of decorated kayaks. With Gondolia’s waterways expected to fill up, the government advises residents to register their kayaks early.
