Milltown’s much-anticipated Annual Cow Parade took place this weekend, drawing hundreds of spectators to Main Street to watch as local farmers proudly paraded their most prized cows decked out in costumes. This year’s theme, “Historical Figures,” brought an array of creatively dressed cows, including Cleopatra Cow, Albert Ein-moo-stine, and even “Bovine Caesar.”

However, the event hit a snag when Daisy, a particularly spirited cow dressed as Queen Elizabeth I, decided to make a break for it mid-parade, causing a minor stampede down Maple Avenue. Luckily, local volunteers and some quick-thinking spectators managed to guide her back with a trail of hay.

Event organizer Carla Hayward laughed off the incident. “Daisy has a mind of her own, but she gave everyone a good story to take home,” she said. “And thankfully, no harm done—except to the popcorn stand she toppled.”

With the parade back on track, this year’s “Best Dressed” title went to Sir Moo-dred, a cow dressed as King Arthur, complete with a cardboard Excalibur. Milltown residents are already looking forward to next year’s parade, and rumors suggest the theme will be “Cows in Space.”
