The small island nation of Bouncelandia made international headlines today after declaring trampoline parks as “essential services” under new legislation passed by its Parliament. The law, which goes into effect next month, ensures that trampoline parks across the country will remain open even during national emergencies, citing both physical and mental health benefits.

Bouncelandia’s Minister of Health, Jaime Springsteen, championed the bill, emphasizing that trampolining offers “unparalleled cardiovascular benefits” while also helping citizens manage stress. “Our citizens bounce for joy, but they also bounce for health,” said Springsteen in a statement following the bill’s passing. “In times of crisis, they need these spaces more than ever.”

Critics, however, have questioned the legislation, arguing that such recreational activities shouldn’t fall under essential services. Still, public response has been largely positive, with residents already lining up for memberships at the country’s largest trampoline chain, JumpNation. “Bouncelandia is leading by example,” said local trampoline park owner Tina Airwell, “and it’s about time the world realized the power of a good bounce.”
